Guesthouse ‘the Hare in the Bed”
This renovation project realises an anti-allergic and comfortable climate inside, low energy consumption, renewable sources and levelled floors. The original building from the early 1900’s is adapted to modern living standards. The office extension from the 1980’s has a new destination as fully accessible accommodation with facilities, workshop and office. Visitors spend their holidays in a pleasant environment with a regional atmosphere, without environmental restrictions or a “healthcare” feeling. All design decisions aimed to smoothly harmonise building physics and technology, functionality and aesthetics. “Tramstraat” was one of three nominees for the “DuBo” (sustainability) -Award 2008.
